A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.

"The plane touched down following standard protocol and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a online announcement.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.

This occurrence isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
