Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
